YEAR 3 & 4
AUTUMN TERM IN YEAR 3 & 4
Our topic this half term is the Victorians.
In history we are going to be looking at the Victorians. We will be looking at how they have changed life as we know it today. We are going to look at how they communicated with each other, how they travelled from place to place and how they lived.
Our guided reading book this year is ‘Ottoline and the yellow cat’ by Chris Riddell who was the children’s Laureate from 2015-2017. This is an exciting and quirky book based on the adventures of Ottoline and Mr’ Munroe a Norwegian bog creature. Each week we will read a section of the book and answer some questions about what we have read.
In science we are looking at light. We have many exciting experiments planned based on how light moves and how it creates shadows. We have already learnt some exciting vocabulary words we will be using when we are talking scientifically about things.
We are looking forward to starting our swimming lessons this term, which will run for 10 weeks in total. We are also looking forward to gymnastics on a Friday afternoon with Laura and PE and PHSE lessons with Ryan on Mondays and Wednesdays.
