The Three-Way Partnership – Parent, Child, School
By the time your children start school, they have already travelled a long way on their educational journeys. They will have mastered the complex English language (and in some cases a second language) with a huge vocabulary. They will be learning how to control their bodies and their emotions and their mathematical concepts will be developing along with their understanding and knowledge of the world around them. They hopefully also have a love of books and creative art, music and movement.
Your role and influence in this have been huge, and we need to ensure that you work closely with the school in the next phase of your child’s education.
We very much view it as a three-way partnership; with you the parent, your child and the school working together towards the same goals. The more you understand the what, how and why of the way we teach, and your child learns, the more help and support you can give your children. We try hard to involve you, through regular meetings, reports and communication – but you must come and talk to your child's teacher if there is anything you want to know, don’t understand or are concerned about.
We are lucky to have a dedicated and caring team of staff who share a common aim: to create a happy, nurturing and memorable school experience for every child. Our whole staff team is passionate about helping children grow and flourish.
We strive to meet the needs of each child. As a small school staff team, we are fortunate to be able to take the time to get to know and understand each child individually, helping them feel safe, valued and loved.
We encourage parents and carers to take an active role in each child’s learning journey and in the life of our school community.
