Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass

Our school is part of the Operation Encompass project, which is run jointly between the school and Cumbria Police.

Operation Encompass is a unique Police and Education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people who are exposed to domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass is the process of the police reporting to schools when a child or young person has been involved or exposed to a domestic abuse incident.

The information is given in strict confidence to the Designated Safeguarding Lead to enable support to be given dependent on the needs and wishes of the child.

For more information, please visit the Operation Encompass website.

Help and Support

Domestic abuse can have a devastating impact on families. Even if a child isn’t being harmed themselves, being in a home where domestic abuse is happening is still child abuse and can have long-lasting effects on them.

If you would like support with domestic abuse, you can speak in confidence to a member of school staff.

Here are links to local organisations you can turn to for advice and support. In an emergency situation, where you or your children need immediate support, always call 999.
