Good school attendance is key to children doing well at school.  Days lost here and there, or minutes lost at the start of the day can have a significant impact on children’s learning, and can be very unsettling.  We always aim for children to come to school every day and on time. 

However, if your child does need to be off school because they are unwell, it is important to let us know, through a call to the school or a message.  Please do not rely on siblings to pass on messages though.

You can phone the school number on 016973 61261  to let us know the reason for your child’s absence.

If we do not hear, we will contact you to find out why your child has not attended school.

If we are unable to get in touch and do not hear anything, we will ring all the contact numbers we have in school for your child.

If we still haven’t heard, we will do a home visit to your house.

As a last resort, we will ask the Police to carry out a welfare check at your address. This will take place on the first day of absence.

Your child’s safety and wellbeing is very important to us, so we need to know where they are and why they haven’t attended school.

Always let us know why your child is off school.
