Reception
Welcome to Reception!
Mrs Grierson and Mrs Watson are the class teachers and they are supported by Miss McKie and Miss Irwin.
The Reception children work together with the Year 1 and Year 2 children and the school day is made up with a mixture of both adult-led, planned activities and child-led, continuous provision time. Each morning the children complete a morning activity, followed by phonics, reading/ writing. After that we have snack, milk and break then do some maths input. On an afternoon we do a range of different activities based on our theme for that half term whilst spending time exploring our continuous provision too.
The class have PE on a Monday afternoon. We occasionally have other sports coaches in, so look for information on this on the weekly bulletin and Class Dojo.
They will also have forest schools during Autumn Term 2.
We have lots of educational trips organised over the course of the year so keep an eye out on Class Dojo and the weekly bulletin for information regarding this.
